Elizabeth (Libby) Cohen

Elizabeth Cohen has had over 45 years’ experience in commercial areas and in the legal profession. She holds an LL.B from Sydney University.

She has specialised in areas such as commercial contracts, equity and trusts. She began her career as a solicitor in Sydney and during that period was a Post Graduate lecturer at the College of Law. She was appointed as a District Court Arbitrator in 1998 and was on the New South Wales Bar Association list of approved arbitrators.

She has a wide experience and knowledge of many industries due to her involvement in lengthy commercial litigation in with members of many industries.

She has been a delegate at numerous international legal conferences which have put her in a position where she has world-wide legal connections.

Peter Edwards

Independent Non-Executive Director, Member of Audit, Risk, Remuneration & Disclosure Committee

Peter Edwards is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has more than 50 years’ experience in the small business and development stage project field both from an accounting, taxation and internal control systems aspect.

He managed his professional practice with his head office in Sydney and branches in the towns of Gunnedah, Young, West Wyalong and Cowra, covering major rural industry regional economies.  He serviced a wide variety of enterprises from established to start-up.

In addition, Peter provided professional expertise as Honorary Treasurer of Austcare in Sydney and the YMCA when he practiced in Canberra.

During the course of his professional career Peter has held positions of Director, Company Secretary and Business Advisor to a number of established private and development stage companies.

Howard Debenham

International Diplomat

Formerly a career diplomat, Howard Debenham served primarily throughout Asia. At the senior levels, he was Australia’s Consul-General in Bangkok and Tokyo, Minister/Counsellor and Consul-General in Washington DC, and High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. As a member of the Senior Executive of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra, he headed up the major management branches of human resources, global property, communications and information technology. As well, he was the department’s State Director for Queensland. 

His book, ‘Waiting ‘Round the Bend – A life in Australia’s Foreign Service’, has recently gone to a 3rd Edition.

He has a wealth of international diplomatic and trade and regional and regulatory negotiation and impasse resolution experience.

Murali Narayan

Murali has a Master of Industrial Structural Engineering in 2006.

Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, (SJCE), VTU, Belgaum, Karnataka, India M.E. Thesis – MATLAB based Finite Element Analysis for Dynamic Analysis of Framed Structures.

He has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2003, secured First Class (State Award Winning) National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore VTU, Belgaum, Karnataka, India.

Murali has had extensive project management experience in India, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Georgia in a wide variety of high rise industrial buildings as well as steel and reinforced concrete structures. 

Laurence Strano

Laurence Strano has been Australia Vietnam Business Council (AVBC) Foundation and its President for the last 20 years. 

He has a wide range of Vietnamese business and government contacts at national and provincial level. He has substantial public and private company equitisation experience and directorships.

He is a Lecturer in Master of Business Administration in Finance, Banking and Investment Analysis. Laurence was the 2006 Nominee Senior Australian of the Year, Investment research;

He has been an Australian Government Chief Economist (14 years).  He has been an advisor to Commonwealth Secretariat and Governments and has resource industry experience and directorships including capital and corporate structuring, corporate valuation of equity expertise.

Yadunandan Chakravarthy Narasimhan

He holds an ABE in Civil Engineering from National Institution of Engineering, Mysore University in 1975, and Structural Engineering M.Tech (PSC) from UVCE Bangalore in 1981.

He has been a Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at S.J.College of Engineering Mysore 1975-2012. He was instrumental in establishing M.Tech (Industrial structures course in S.J.C.E, 1985.

He helped in installation of all structural analysis software like ANSYS, NISA, PCSAR, STAAD etc in the college and guided more than 160 M.Tech Projects.

He is the author of Handbook of Structural Steel Design according to IS 800-2007 published by ACCE and is active in continuing education programs for professional engineers from Government and private organisations (ISTE-CEP, INSTRUCT).

Professionally active as a Life Member of the Institution of Engineers (India), Fellow Member of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE), was Chapter Chairman and Secretary and Member of the Managing Committee of ACCE.

He is now working as a structural Consultant in Mysore since 2012 and a certified Senior Professional Engineer from Engineering Council of India (ECI).

Some significant projects:- − Finite element analysis of Spillway Gate Structure at KRS dam. − Member, study team, Study of Marine Works damage due to Tsunami at Andaman Islands. − Monitoring and design check of National Games Building Works at Bangalore and is currently active in design and proof checking of many large concrete and steel structures.

He has delivered many special lectures on structures in various engineering colleges and universities and is an empanelled engineer for various industries like BEML, MYPOL, ABB India etc.
